Virgin Galactic, the space-plane venture founded by British billionaire Richard Branson, successfully launched its first commercial flight with Galactic 01 on Thursday.

Virgin Galactic’s VSS Unity suborbital spaceplane carried a crew of four, including three members of the Italian air force, who will take a brief suborbital voyage to the edge of space to conduct a series of suborbital science experiments.
