Some Canadians with records for possession of cannabis who are seeking pardons say the country is letting them down. The drug has been legal in Canada since 2018, and a program to expedite pardons was introduced just one year later. Under it, only 845 pardons have been granted. Jack Lloyd, a cannabis lawyer, says the program was doomed from the start, suggesting that a program of expungement should've been introduced instead.
