US study finds young men want children more than women, but experts aren't surprised

Parenthood can be a difficult decision for some, but a new U.S. study from the Pew Research Center has found more young men between the ages of 18-34 want children more than women.

Sociology and economic experts say the news isn't a surprise and may partly be a result of the impact having a child can have for women not only physically, mentally and emotionally, but on their position in the labour market as well.

Global's Sean Previl breaks down the numbers and looks into what experts say needs to change not to get more people to have children, but to relieve the pressures they face so they can decide whether they want them without worrying about potential negative impacts.
