U.S. Vice President-elect Kamala Harris delivered her victory speech in Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday, telling supporters “now is when the real work begins.”

"The road ahead will not be easy, but America is ready,” she added.

Harris also reflected on the “generations of women” who she said have “paved the way for this moment tonight.” The vice president-elect stated that while she may be the first woman in the office, she won’t be the last.

“Every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities,” Harris said.

Harris is set to become the first female vice president and the first Black vice president in American history.
