US 'considering' dropping Julian Assange prosecution, Joe Biden says

Australia's prime minister has welcomed comments from President Biden that he is considering a request to drop espionage charges against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

Mr Biden's hint came one day before the fifth anniversary of Mr Assange, 52, being held in a London prison as he fights against extradition to the United States.
