A far-right militia leader has been sentenced to 18 years in jail for his role in the attack on the United States Capitol two years ago.
Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the Oath Keepers, has been convicted of seditious conspiracy.
Prosecutors argued that the riot was a plot to stop the peaceful transfer of power from Donald Trump to Joe Biden after the 2020 presidential election.

Al Jazeera’s Alan Fisher reports from Washington, DC, US.
