From the time of Chaudhary Charan Singh, Muslims and Jats used to vote together. A rift took place with the Ram Mandir movement but social relations did not change. But after this the Muzaffarnagar riots of 2013 spoiled the whole game. The Jats joined the BJP and politics shifted from sugarcane to Jinnah.
