Thousands of Palestinians were made refugees for a second time when they fled the war in Syria and the underfunded UN relief agency for Palestinian refugees is struggling to provide support for them.
The agency says the socioeconomic deterioration in Lebanon and Syria and the coronavirus pandemic have increased the humanitarian challenges facing Palestinian refugees.
UNRWA has launched an urgent appeal for additional funding to help those living in Lebanon, saying the agency has been surviving month to month and came close to stopping all services last year.
Nearly two million Palestinian refugees across the Middle East rely on the agency for basic services such as food, health, education and jobs.
Al Jazeera's Zeina Khodr reports from Lebanon.
