UN report reveals Canadians waste more than 79 kg of food annually

According to a UN report, the average Canadian wastes over 79 kilograms of food a year at home, a number that's higher than Americans, but similar to the amount of wasted by the average person in the United Kingdom. University of Guelph associate professor Kate Parizeau says lack of meal planning is a contributing factor but there's also cultural and structural problems. She gives some practical tips on how people can reduce their household food waste.
