The situation in Gaza is "apocalyptic" and there is a "heightened risk" of atrocity crimes being committed, the UN human rights chief has warned.

Speaking at a news conference in Geneva, Volker Turk urged Israel and Hamas to urgently take measures to stop such violations being committed.
