The UN Security Council has adopted a resolution urging the safe passage for Afghans and foreign nations departing from Afghanistan.

The US hopes the Taliban will hold true to its August 27 statement promising Afghans they could travel abroad by land and air.

Al Jazeera’s Kristen Saloomey reports from the United Nations in New York, the US.
