The European Union has planned to ban imports on Russian oil by the end of 2022, as part of a sixth package of sanctions in response to the war in Ukraine.

The sanctions are yet to be formerly approved and run the risk of being vetoed by those who are reliant on supplies from Russia, such as Hungary and Slovakia.
