Ukraine War: 21-year-old Russian soldier pleads guilty to war crime

Russian soldier Vadim Shishimarin has pleaded guilty to the murder of an unarmed 62-year-old civilian in the early days of the conflict in Ukraine.

The murder took place in north-eastern Ukraine and has become the first trial for war crimes since the conflict began in February.

Shishimarin could now face life in prison.
