The United Kingdom has agreed to pay France more than 570 million dollars over the next three years in an effort to cut the number of migrants crossing the English Channel.
The funding will go towards a new detention centre and more border forces.
The deal was announced during a summit between French president Emmanuel Macron and UK prime minister Rishi Sunak, who said the meeting marks a 'new beginning' for the two countries.
