British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has struck a deal with France to fund a new plan aimed at reducing the number of undocumented migrants arriving in the U.K. on small boats.

Approximately 45,000 people crossed the English Channel this way in 2022, with almost all of them applying for asylum.
