Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson left mentioning U.S. president-elect Joe Biden until the very end of his weekly Prime Minister's questions session on Wednesday.

Taking to the despatch box, opposition Labour Party Leader Keir Starmer welcomed Biden's victory, saying it marked "a new era of decency, integrity and compassion in the White House."

While Johnson rejected the criticism by citing the taskforce's work to procure 40 million doses of the recently announced Pfizer-Biontech vaccine, the prime minister was in a much more upbeat mood when he eventually mentioned his "excellent" conversation with Biden.

Despite acknowledging his "good relationship" with Trump, Johnson said he was "delighted" to find areas of common cause with the president-elect, including climate change.
