The United Kingdom government has been forced into a U-turn on plans to scrap the top income tax rate for high earners.
Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng says the controversial proposal to slash the tax had ‘become a distraction’.
The controversial policy was met with turmoil in the markets and a revolt within new Prime Minister Liz Truss's own Conservative Party.
