UK diplomats evacuated from Sudan after 'significant escalation in violence', PM says

UK diplomats and their families have been evacuated from the Sudanese capital Khartoum after a "significant escalation in violence", Rishi Sunak has said.

The Prime Minister also said he was working to ensure British nationals who are still in the country are safe.

He said the evacuation of diplomats and their loved ones was "complex and rapid" and a "difficult operation" and came amid threats to embassy staff.
