UK dad faces travel insurance nightmare in Canada, pays $10K a night at hospital

A UK man’s trip to Canada just before Christmas has turned into a nightmare after he became unwell on the plane.

Upon arrival, he was met by paramedics. Four days later, his son, Max Verlander, says he was rushed to the hospital on Christmas Day and has been in ICU fighting various lung infections and kidney failure since then.

With no travel insurance, Verlander says the hospital bill is around $10,000 a day. Tomasia DaSilva has the story.
