One of the big business stories of the year is the nightmare that was — air travel, particularly during the summer and the period leading up to it, when people wanted to get away after holding back. It was dubbed “revenge travel” and airlines couldn’t keep up.

Analysts say that overbooking, something airlines did pre-pandemic, and staffing shortages were the catalysts for travel nightmares. Are headaches galore the new norm for air travel?

Inflation was all anybody wanted to talk about for the first part of the year. While there was some good news as it looked to have peaked during the summer, it remains stubbornly high. And now it looks like inflation is moving from goods to services.
