In the village of Besni, Turkey, people were surprised to see a Global News team arrive because for four days, barely anyone else has – no rescue workers, no help – despite the fact that entire apartment buildings have collapsed with people trapped inside for days.

Locals shared videos of people calling out for help, yet for days no one was coming to their rescue. Those sharing the videos say how incredibly sad and frustrated they are because no one showed up to help.

More than 23,000 people are now believed to have died in the quake that struck both Turkey and Syria, and was measured at 7.8 on the Richter scale.

Jackson Proskow has more.
