On Twitter, the US President Donald Trump wrote that President-elect Joe Biden had won - but reiterated claims that the vote was rigged.
“I concede nothing,” Trump added in another tweet shortly after.
Republicans and Democrats say that Trump's intransigence could throw efforts to fight the coronavirus in the US into disarray as cases rise to new highs.
