Trump, prosecutors gear up for hush money closing arguments

More than 400 days after former U.S. president Donald Trump was first indicted on allegations of hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels, his trial is rapidly approaching an end. Closing arguments will begin on Tuesday morning before it falls into the hands of a New York City jury.

Prosecutors will have one last chance to weave together weeks of testimony to argue that Trump intentionally falsified business records to conceal another crime. Meanwhile, the defence will attack the state's theory to claim business filings were accurate and that it wasn't Trump's fault because he paid Michael Cohen for legal services. Now, legal experts are watching how the jury reacts behind closed doors.

While Trump has argued this to be a politically motivated case, he has also used this trial to his advantage by turning it into an offshoot of his campaign and using his time outside the courtroom to target President Joe Biden.
