Trump indictment: Former president to be arraigned Tuesday in classified documents case

Former president Donald Trump will be arraigned in Miami, Fla., on Tuesday on charges he mishandled classified documents.

The charges stem from Trump’s treatment of sensitive government materials he took with him when he left the White House in January 2021. According to the indictment, those documents include some of the most sensitive U.S. military secrets, including information on the U.S. nuclear program and potential domestic vulnerabilities in the event of an attack.

The federal charges represent the biggest legal jeopardy so far for Trump, coming less than three months after he was charged in New York with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.
