Trump indictment: Former president expected to appear in New York court on Tuesday

Former president Donald Trump is expected to fly from his Mar-a-Lago estate to New York City on Monday ahead of his expected court appearance stemming from his historic indictment last week.

Trump will not be handcuffed when he surrenders next week to face criminal charges, under the terms of a deal agreed between his defence attorneys and Manhattan prosecutors, defence lawyer Joe Tacopina has said.

He is facing an indictment following a grand jury investigation into a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels during Trump’s 2016 campaign.
