Following his arraignment in Miami, Fla., on Tuesday, where he plead not guilty to dozens of federal criminal charges related to his alleged mishandling of classified documents, former U.S. president Donald Trump held a rally in Bedminster, N.J.

Trump repeated claims that the charges are fake, an act of political prosecution and a form of election interference.

Earlier in the day, the former president pleaded not guilty to 37 criminal counts detailed in an explosive indictment that was unsealed on Friday.

Speaking to supporters in New Jersey, he said he had the “right” to keep the classified documents under the Presidential Records Act and said many of the boxes actually held personal items.

“In other words, whatever documents a president decides to take with him, has the right to do so. It’s an absolute right. This is the law,” he told supporters.

Trump’s appearance in Miami marks the second time in three months that Trump has faced a judge on criminal charges after he was arraigned in April in Manhattan.
