Convicting Trump will be an uphill battle as more Republican senators appear to be shying away from voting in favour of conviction. In order to do so, Democrats would need 17 Republicans to join them and while Trump has already left office, the Senate could still disqualify him from holding future office.
Jackson Proskow reports.
