Before yesterday, Donald Trump had relentlessly mocked his Republican rival Ron De Santis as, amongst other things, 'Ron De Santimonious'.

But that changed when the Florida governor dropped out of the race for the White House and threw his backing behind the former president.

Suddenly, Mr Trump was describing him as "a really terrific person".

De Santis's shock announcement came at a perfect time for the Trump campaign as the next Republican primary is tomorrow in New Hampshire.
