Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took questions at a press conference on Monday in Val-d'Or, Que., where he shared his excitement about Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen joining NASA's Artemis-II mission next year.

Hansen will be the first non-American to leave Earth's orbit, which Trudeau highlighted while speaking to reporters.

"Twenty-four people have ever seen with their own eyes the circle of the Earth. And now, a Canadian is going to be part of the very next [group of] people to see, the first non-American to do it," he said. "It's a big deal."

Trudeau also took questions about the recently-tabled Liberal budget for 2023-2024, dental care, the Canada-U.S. Safe Third Country Agreement and more.
