Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Latvian counterpart, Arturs Krišjānis Kariņš, are expected to hold a news conference on Thursday following a bilateral meeting.

According to a press release by Trudeau's office, the two leaders are meeting to discuss further military support to Ukraine amid the ongoing Russian invasion. It comes ahead of the upcoming NATO summit in Spain, which will also be a topic of discussion during the meeting Thursday.

The prime ministers are expected to speak about the two countries' partnership and security issues in the broader Baltic region. The foreign ministers of Canada and the three Baltic states - Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania - will meet in June.
