Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau landed in Jakarta, Indonesia on Tuesday, where he is kicking off a six-day tour of the Indo-Pacific region.

Trudeau is set to spend two days in Jakarta where he will meet with Indonesian President Joko Widodo Tuesday evening before delivering remarks at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations on Wednesday, as the 10-nation bloc prepares to make Canada its latest strategic partner.

The focus of Trudeau’s trip will be on nurturing relationships with Asian leaders and advancing trade talks.
