Tory minister Steve Baker appears to launch bid to become leader of Conservative Party

Talking to Sky's Sophy Ridge, Northern Ireland Secretary Steve Baker explained why he wants to have a run at the leadership of the Conservative Party after the election he believes the Tories will lose.

"The reality is that my colleagues have sent for me before the referendum, after the referendum, during COVID and over net zero."

The minister also appeared to have conceded the election to the Labour Party and warned that Sir Keir Starmer "will have practically untrammelled power," if he wins a supermajority.
