Toronto residents fearful, fed up after dogs attacked by coyotes

Torontonian Doug Youngson, his wife, and their two dogs were out for a walk on Canada Day when they had a terrifying encounter with a pack of coyotes at a city park. When one of his dogs was surrounded by the wild animals, Youngson says he didn't think twice about stepping in.

"My wife said, 'There's a coyote, let's go.' I turned around and I said, 'Okay fine, let's go.' I turned around and as soon as I turned around, there was another one there. Then I turn, there's another one here,” Youngson said.

Youngson was able to get to his dog in time and rushed him to the emergency vet. His injuries were severe, and their vet bills have totaled more than $20,000 so far.
