A Toronto family is thankful to get their car back after experiencing two attempts to steal their 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee — with the second attempt being successful.

The first incident happened in mid-May, when the thieves tripped the motion sensor on a security camera in the morning. This led to the family triggering the alarm from their phones and scaring away the robbers.

But while the Ricketts family thought they were in the clear, but two months later, thieves struck again and this time made away with the vehicle. Two thieves worked in broad daylight to open the door of the family vehicle, with one man keeping watch. The family was inside when it happened.

In a turn of events, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were able to track down the car in a shipping container set for the destination of Dubai after being tipped off.
