TikTok has roughly 8 million users across Canada, with the majority of them aged 18 to 24.

Some politicians have been eager to use the popular app to connect with younger voters.

But as David Akin explains, privacy concerns over TikTok’s parent company have two political leaders logging off, while some provinces are following the feds and other Western countries by banning the app on government-issued devices.
