Heavy thunderstorms hit parts of New York on Monday, resulting in flooded roads and even subway stations in upper Manhattan and the Bronx.

Video taken by residents captured stunning images of cars in the middle of flooded streets and even the moment a bus mowed through floodwaters, causing passengers to express their shock over the impact of the water on the windows.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said some subway services were disrupted due to flooding. The National Weather Service had also issued a flash-flood warning for Manhattan, The Bronx, Yonkers and New Rochelle on Monday evening, urging residents to move to higher ground and avoid walking or driving where possible.
