Three-phase Gaza ceasefire proposal: Israeli war cabinet to discuss the plan

A deeply divided Israeli war cabinet is set to meet in the coming hours to discuss a three-phase proposal to end the war on Gaza.
US President Joe Biden has said the deal was put forward by the Israelis.
Mediators are urging both sides to agree it.

The Israeli government has banned Al Jazeera from reporting in Israel, so Sara Khairat is in the Jordanian capital, Amman, with more on the meeting.

The top White House national security official has said the US hopes both parties will accept the ceasefire proposal as soon as possible.
