"They're really at the mercy of governments": Afghan refugees losing hope for Canadian help

Despite Canada's vow of welcoming 40,000 Afghan refugees, many are still waiting for the federal government's help. Just around 10,000 have arrived in Canada since the Taliban crisis in summer 2021.

And when it comes to those who were approved as part of Ottawa's "special immigration program for Afghans who assisted the Government of Canada," only a little more than 5,600 have so far arrived.

Mike Drolet reports on the dire situation of Afghans still stranded due to red tape, how they are losing hope for help, and what Ottawa claims is slowing down the process.
