An Ottawa ICU doctor believes paid sick leaves are a stronger tool than lockdowns. In an interview with ‘The West Block’ guest host Abigail Bimman, Dr. Kwadwo Kyeremanteng says many of the COVID-19 patients in his ICU are from marginalized populations and essential workers — who are less likely to get tested if they won’t get paid to be off work.

Plus, Canada’s ambassador to the U.S. says she will be at president-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration Wednesday, after taking a COVID-19 test as per the rules for attendees. In an interview with ‘The West Block’ guest host Abigail Bimman, Hillman says her team is starting to ‘lay the groundwork for those first calls’ with the Biden administration.
