The UK needs to sanction the Chinese governor persecuting Uyghur Muslims, Sir Duncan Smith says

Sir Iain Duncan Smith has criticised the government for allowing the governor of Xinjiang to come to the UK, despite the persecution of Uyghur Muslims in the province.

The former Conservative minister called on the government to sanction Erkin Tuniyaz and his predecessor, after No 10 confirmed Mr Tuniyaz will go to the Foreign Office for a meeting with officials.
