Levelling Up Secretary Michael Gove has defended the privileges committee after former PM Boris Johnson attacked it in his resignation statement on Friday, saying that said he would not describe the committee as "a kangaroo court."

When asked if Boris Johnson might return to parliament in the future, Mr Gove said that only a "foolish person" could claim to know what he will do next.
