Diskit, a village 113 km away from Leh, in Nubra Valley has small business owners who rely on tourism for livelihood. Previously most of the bookings came through Leh as internet access was bad due to high altitude & harsh conditions. In October 2020, Airtel launched its services and since then locals are connected to the rest of the world. They have been able to control their own bookings now and reaching out to more & more tourists every day.
