'The NHS is very bad at learning from its mistakes'

Jeremy Hunt, Chairman of the Commons Health and Social Care Committee has called for an urgent overhaul of health litigation.

The former Health Secretary said "when things go wrong in the NHS, we are very bad at learning from mistakes".

Mr Hunt blamed the litigation system in place, which means families often have to wait "years after tragic events to see if they are entitled to compensation."
