Dominic Cummings has left Downing Street this evening for good, a government source has told Sky News.

The Prime Minister's senior adviser said on Thursday night he would exit No10 before the end of the year.

However, he was pictured leaving Downing St this evening carrying a box, and sources said Boris Johnson had asked him not to return.

Downing St also said Lee Cain, Mr Johnson's most senior aide, was also told he did not need to work his notice.
