The Russian opposition leader's funeral and farewell ceremony will take place on the 1 March in Moscow following his death on the 16 February.

A ceremony will take place at a church in the southeastern Maryino district at 2pm local time (11am UK time), Kira Yarmysh said in a post to X.

Sky News reported that Mr Navalny's team was struggling to find a site for his farewell ceremony as multiple venues were refusing access.
