Nicaragua's President Daniel Ortega is running for a fourth consecutive term, despite widespread criticism the campaign has been neither free nor fair.
Ortega's administration has overseen a campaign to arrest 40 opposition members and as a result, the incumbent is running virtually unopposed in Sunday's vote.
Human rights groups say Ortega has increasingly clamped down on dissent, especially since protests began against plans to cut pensions and raise taxes in 2018.
