Some communities have been given a break by the pandemic: Indigenous people on Thailand's largest island have seen fish-stocks return and the sounds of nearby construction silenced thanks to the lack of foreign tourists.
But with the prospect of visitors returning, people are once again worried about the possibility of being kicked off their ancestral lands.
