Addressing comments he made in an interview where he appeared to blame renewable energy for Texas' energy grid problem following the winter storm, Gov. Greg Abbott said Wednesday that in several interviews he has said every source of power in the state has been "compromised," not just renewable energy but gas, nuclear and coal as well.

He also said that an investigation would begin into the Electric Reliability Council of Texas after the state saw large-scale power outages following the storm.

Abbott made the comments during an update on the state's response to the storm.

The governor said that people should be prepared for more cold temperatures in the days to come, with it falling below freezing through Thursday. He also said 1.2 million people have had their power restored and more power was being generated from the South Texas nuclear project.
