Texas Gov. Greg Abbott spoke Monday about the fatal bus stop incident in Brownsville on Sunday that saw eight people killed after the driver of a vehicle plowed into a crowd of migrants.

Abbott said an investigation was ongoing but officials are expecting to release more information later in the day, though it is not yet known if the incident was intentional.

He also spoke about a mass shooting that occurred at a mall outlet on Saturday that left eight people dead and at least seven injured when a gunman opened fire before being killed by a police officer.

Abbott said he was "extraordinarily concerned" for the families of the victims and he was working with authorities to "get to the bottom" of what happened.

An Allen Police Department officer was at the mall on an unrelated call when he heard the shots and responded, firing on and killing the gunman. Police say they believe the shooter acted alone.
