People in Texas are in mourning after yet another violent tragedy. On May 6, a gunman went on a rampage at an outlet mall in Allen, a suburb of Dallas, killing eight people.

It is Texas’ second mass shooting in just over a week, and more than 200 such events have occurred in the U.S. in 2023, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
